Paganini's Violin “The Cannon”
Special Note(s) for this photograph: The varnish on Paganini's “Cannon” (made by Joseph Guarneri) is different than on most of his instruments (not necessarily totally different ingredients, but proportioned and layered differently) and shows the signs of another hand (possibly again, his wife Katarina's). It also reacts differently under various light sources than most of Guarneri's other instruments (with the possible exception of “The Leduc”).
